Oyindamola Akintola

Hi! I’m Oyindamola Akintola (commonly referred to as Oyin), and I’m excited to be coaching the World Schools division this summer. I’ve competed in World Schools throughout high school and previously served as the President of my Speech & Debate team. My WSD team is a two-time Houston City Champion (2023 and 2025), and we’ve had the honor of breaking to outrounds at NSDA Nationals, placing in the top 16 in 2023 and top 32 in 2024. Debate has taught me so many great things, and I can’t wait to help others grow in all those areas too. I’m passionate about making debate fun and meaningful, so let's do it together!

Mingyi Chen

He advanced to late elimination rounds at major tournaments, including TFA State, Grapevine and Churchill. Throughout high school, Mingyi regularly coached middle and high school students on weekends. A former student at TDC, he is really excited to be coming back this year as an instructor. He enjoys discussing debate topics such as casing, drills, and flay debate. Outside of debate, he likes to play violin, read fantasy/sci-fi, and visit national parks.
